PORTER STANDでは「旅」というコンセプトを元にlimArt/Postがセレクトした写真集を販売しています。
本日はその中から「New Color Photographs」をご紹介いたします。
初期カラー写真の巨匠として知られるポール・アウターブリッジの、これまでに未発表/未出版だった作品をまとめたものです。
彼は主に30年代にヌードや静物写真の絶大な名声を得た後、40年代後半から50年代にかけてストリートへ出てカリフォルニアとメキシコの境界を行き来しながらそこにいる人々や場所を撮影しました。
これらの作品はカラー写真における刮目すべき名作であり、それを発展させてきた彼の特徴的なスタイルとドラマチックな色使いを見出すことができます。

At PORTER STAND we carry photobook selected by limArt/POST under a concept of "TRIP".
Among the selections, today we would like to introduce "New Color Photographs".
Paul Outerbridge was a photographer prominent for his early use and experiments in color photography. This book gathers all of his unreleased/unpublished pieces.
In the 1930's , he received great reputation for nude photos and still photos.
Then between the late 40's to the 50's, he went outside the streets going back and forth the boundary of California and Mexico taking photos of people and places.
These are master pieces that deserves wide recognition. As a pioneer of color photos, you could see his unique style and the dramatic color usage.
