The rocks were surely singing as the waves crashed over them during this phenomenal sunset I spent at the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland recently. A natural phenomenon, these basalt hexagonal stepping stones were formed from an ancient volcano, and stretch from the hills behind until they disappear into the sea. Legend has it that the Irish giant, Finn MacCool, was challenged to a fight by the Scottish giant Benandonner. Finn accepted the challenge and built the causeway across the North Channel so that the two could meet (there are similar basalt columns across the way in Scotland). Whether Finn or Benandonner won the fight depends on which side of the channel you live on, but thanks to these two giants you can visit this Unesco site and walk along the Giant's path. It's also a beautiful place to take photos. Photo by @magnumji
