prasarita padottanasana (wide leg forward fold)

take a wide stance with feet parallel to the short edge of mat. start with hands on hips, engage legs and keep arches of feet lifted by isometrically hugging legs and feet to midline of body. press down into all four corners of feet and draw energy up legs and into pelvis. inhale into spine and side body long. as you exhale, hinge at hips and fold forward to a flat back, pressing finger tips into the earth. inhale, maintaining natural curve and length of spine and fold deeper, bringing crown of head towards ground into a deep forward fold.
