It's 11am and I'm still in bed. Gracie's snoring, I'm exceptionally cozy, and it's pouring rain outside, so I really have no motivation to move. Well, except for the fact that I have to clean my house in anticipation of tomorrow's birthday festivities (but I'm rather hoping that some sort of magic will take place and I won't actually have to lift a finger). I've not been this excited for a birthday in a long time. Shouldn't I be joining my 30-something friends and moaning things like, "Ohhhhh! Not another birthday! How's that possible when I'm clearly not a day past 25?" Maybe it's because I've passed through a bit of hell and I'm so grateful to be living a happier, shinier life. Or maybe it's because I'm truly grateful to be getting older and wiser and a little more aware. Or it may very well just be the thought of vegan carrot birthday cake from one of my favourite restaurants... Whatever it is, I like it. Happy almost-my-birthday, friends! x.
