The drive alone was so gorgeous (the east coast trees all changing colors- wowee!) but once we arrived the real autumnal experience began. We were tucked into a cozy cottage on the property complete with a crib for Miro AND a diaper genie (a lot of hotels offer cribs but no one has ever had a diaper genie for us- THANK YOU!) every corner of the Mayflower is made for settling in with a book by the fire; each nook is unique and inviting. It was perfect weather to wander the various gardens and admire the view of leaves slowly drifting down from the trees into the pond just beyond the spa. The food was yummy and varied; we loved knowing the herbs all came from the chef’s garden on property, and other ingredients from neighboring organic farms. Miro relished his time to be out of the city and run in nature, and Nico and I cherished this final hurrah as just us 3. In a world that’s so uncertain and unsteady this weekend felt incredibly special and decadent. We truly know how lucky we are. On our last night the front desk called the room and asked us if there was anything else they could do to make our stay more special. Truth is, nothing could have made it better.
