I went online and typed Empire Stare Building stories and an article by the @smithsonian popped up that read Docking on the Empire State Building. I was like “whhhat?!” Obviously I read the story and it’s true. Despite plans to have a mooring station on top of the ESB, there was only one ship that ever docked. In September 1931, a privately owned dirigible docked for 3 minutes, in a 40 mile per hour wind. It said traffic was at a halt while the pilot parked the dirigible. 😱😅 Can you imagine seeing that today?! It would definitely stop traffic for sure! And how incredible it would be to see that?!
