VIB and the Bears got to know each other through the gate. Having a barrier helps them feel less threatened or overwhelmed. I have been letting VIB meet the pups on leash. In some cases, introduction during a stimulating activity (like walking) can reduce the tension between the parties. We use this often when introducing new dogs. Vanilla and Smokey were uncomfortable at first. The important thing is they weren’t forced to meet. They always had a choice to go away. Sunny Bunny Ginger Bear just wanted to play with anyone.
