I have personally found learning about the creative process of other writers/photographers/creators very instructing and even amusing, so I thought you might also be interested to learn how this book came to be. The story of the genesis of Pomegranates & Artichokes has two parts: one is a story of intuition, magic and faith. I’m writing about this creative process for one of my favorite publications, but I have decided to write about what came after that faithful moment of having the idea. The first part of “Making P&A” series on substack is a story of practicality and pragmatism, and it’s how I wrote (and sold) my cookbook proposal. In recent years I have seen even more material than before on this topic but a few years ago it was a bit hard to find all the pieces. This is something I wish I had had access to when I decided I wanted to write a cookbook.
