If we had to choose a work of art in which to host an Easter egg hunt, Camille Pissarro’s vibrant “View of Bazincourt” would be at the top of the list.

Like many of the Impressionist artworks on view in Monet to Morisot: The Real and Imagined in European Art, this work contains colorful touches and broad strokes that emphasize the materiality of paint as well as the aesthetic possibilities of color, form, and pictorial space, sometimes approaching the edge of abstraction.

See Pissarro’s idyllic, green scene on the fifth floor in the European Art galleries.
