知らない男性に「ズボンのチャックを一緒に閉めてくれないか」と声をかけられたのは、6歳のとき。

「一人で閉められなくて困っていた」
そう言われて、私は男性と家の陰へ行った。
男性の息は荒くて、違和感を感じたけれど、人助けだと思ってチャックを閉めた。

でも家に帰ったとき、
間違ったことをしたかもしれない、と
急に不安になった。
怒られるかもしれない、と思って
親に言えなかった。

同じような経験がある人は
一体どのくらいいるだろう。

私たちの国の性教育は、遅れている。
私は子どもの頃、
自分の身体を大切にする方法や、
自分の身体が感じるものを認めてあげる方法を知る機会がなかった。

それは今でもあまり変わっていない。
2022年になっても「性行為」とは何なのか、
何に気をつけてどう考えるべきなのか、学校で教えてはいけない規定がある。

教わっていないのだから、分からないことも失敗することもあるだろう。
でもその責任を取り、社会から糾弾され、傷付いている女の子たちは多い。

男女平等がどれだけ実現されているか示すジェンダーギャップ指数は、156カ国中120位。

システムから変えていく必要が
あると思っています。

I was 6 years old, when a strange man came up to me and asked me to zip his pants up.
“I can’t do it by myself, so I need your help”, he said, and took me to the back of the house.
He was breathing heavily, and I felt uneasy, but he said he needed help, so I zipped him up.

But when I got back home,
I realized that I might’ve done something wrong, and started to feel dread.
I couldn’t tell my parents because I was scared that they would get mad.

I wonder how many people have had to go through something similar.

Our country’s sex education is lagging behind.
As a child, I was never taught how to take care, protect, and listen to my body.

Not much has changed.
Despite it being 2022, school’s are still prohibited to teach what it means to be sexually active, and how to take proper precautions.

It is hard to avoid making mistakes and to not be ignorant, if you have never been educated on the subject.
However, it is women who bear the responsibility, are denounced by society, and are hurt.

Of 156 countries surveyed in the Global Gender Gap Report, Japan was 120th.
The system needs to change.
