Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States in 1865. But still…156 years later the fight for equality, justice, and the end of oppression continues for the Black community. Black history is American history. We should reflect on this day while continuing to educate ourselves. Juneteenth National Independence Day and Black History must be taught in schools and spoken about in our homes. Critical Race Theory education is so very important in bringing about real equality.
