The gallery is temporarily closed, but from February 22, the exhibition will be fully visible through the gallery’s large windows from 8am to 8pm daily. Sweeney’s imagery, which ranges from surreal, ambiguously gendered self-portraits to semi-abstract reclining nudes, is centered on the human figure. Conveying intense emotion through deft paint handling and lively color, his work chronicles the physical and psychological spaces occupied by the body.
