I can’t help but think about how Myanmar’s future generations will be affected by what could become a return to military dictatorship for the next years to come. Here, grade 4 students do their homework at an after school program in a solar-powered community center in Yangon’s Dala Township. As most homes here have no access to electricity, these students can study in the evening time raising their education and opportunities for a better future. This is part of my long term project 'Solar Portraits' which addresses the important issue of lack of access to electricity around the world, and the positive impact that solar electricity systems are having in different communities.
