thephotosocietyさんのインスタグラム写真 - (thephotosocietyInstagram)「Photo by David Chancellor @chancellordavid / I wanted to give an update from Reteti Elephant Sanctuary @r.e.s.c.u.e here in Namunyak, northern Kenya, and in particular how Long’uro is getting on. He was brought in about 6 months ago having been rescued by the community from a flooded well, his trunk was torn off by hyenas and we weren’t too sure how he’d get on. But, after being operated on by the amazing vet here @vetinwild he continues to do incredibly well. His wounds are healed and he’s very much one of the team here. It remains to be seen what future awaits Long’uro, he’ll hopefully follow those before him and be released back into the wild as soon as he’s able to support himself. He’s definitely browsing more and only time will tell if he’s able to support himself fully in the wild.
