The owner Celeste Martin lived here until she passed at the age of 98. When Celeste passed (December 2018) she had no will, nor did she have children. Many did not know that she not only owned this pink house but many other properties in the West Village totaling 25 million. She had a real estate empire. She never wanted to sell any of her properties even though there were extremely lucrative offers. She protected her tenant who many didn’t pay rent. Her homes was not well kept...a lot was falling apart. The properties were taken over by the Manhattan public administrator and are all being sold. Perhaps they are all sold by now? Not to long ago, the pink house was purchased and currently undergoing a huge renovation. The new owners are @thenovogratz , the amazing husband and wife design team. You may have heard of their show on @bravotv called 9 by Design or their @hgtv show Home by Novogratz.
