One of the many buildings that is the heart and soul of a neighborhood. ✨ Curious about the triangle in the pic? If yes, read on ...if not, have a happy Monday!😁 Have you read about the tiniest piece of land in the city? It’s called the Hess Triangle. This story began early 1900 where 300 of the building in the area was scheduled to be torn down to widen streets and make room for the subway line. The Voorhis apartment building (owned by Hess) was on this corner and even after fighting, he lost. By 1914 all that was remained was the small triangle measuring approx 27”x27”x25”. In 1928 Hess’s heirs discovered when the city seized the Voorhis, they missed this triangle. The city asked the family to donate...they refused. In 1938 the Hess family sold the triangle to Village Cigars for $1000.00. Now the triangle is part of Village Cigars but at one point in time was the tiniest piece of land.
