This Perkins Brailler is part of the song's history. In 2018, Feliciano donated a group of objects to our museum that spoke to different facets of his life and Grammy-award winning musical career. One of those objects was this braillewriter. (Braillewriters are devices used to write in the tactile writing system, Braille). Since the 1960s, Feliciano had used this Perkins Brailler to to write lyrics, notes to fans, and love letters to his wife. Feliciano has been blind since birth, and his braillewriter was one of his critical songwriting tools.
