Every year in the UK, that’s approximately 7 million tonnes, peaking at Christmas. Just during the holiday season, 2 million turkeys, 5 million Christmas puddings, and 74 million mince pies are thrown away, causing almost 270,000 tons of food waste. Together, we can deliver those extra 2.25 million meals needed in London and – at the same time - reduce food waste during one of the most wasteful seasons.
