A female #jaguar frozen in time descending a tree in Brazil’s #Pantanal. This was a unique experience on so many levels, an elusive, fantasy like animal for me in some regard. This female here was 1 of 2 sub-adults that had been orphaned and released into this region. If you swipe you’ll see this female here has a cub, descending the tree and emulating mom. From what I was told from the trackers, this may have been the cubs first time. Their body language and position on the tree is nearly synonymous, clearly this cub is learning well. The mother here had a tracking collar around her neck, being closely studied by local biologists in this wilderness area. As she briefly stared into my camera her position was perfect enough to isolate the collar, which I really appreciated. Seeing the raw power of these animals up close and personal in the wild was a dream come true. @niarratravel @tjtriage @oncafari @refugioecologicocaiman
