Here are some behind-the-scenes snaps of Marco and Jasmin at work on Cildo Meireles' 'Babel’ 2001, a large circular tower of second-hand radios tuned to a multitude of different stations. 📻 'It is a very strange feeling to be completely alone in the deserted galleries while undertaking this conservation work. The current closure has provided us with a unique window of opportunity to do a condition check of “Babel” to remove surface dust and to see if any further work is needed. ‘Usually this room is alive with the sound of visitors and the overlapping radio broadcasts, so the silence during cleaning has been very surreal.
