The beautiful @daniellashohet in our @dueldiagnosis “I’ll Never Be The Sane” - Daniella happens to be the daughter of my dear friend and therapist (in that order). I first met Daniella when she was 18 months old. Back then, I was in deep crisis and heavily into my drug addiction and suicidal ideation. Her mother, my therapist, was new to motherhood and still made the time to be there for me as well. Looking back I don’t know how that’s possible, she is a true healer. Anyway, There was one particular day that I was in a very dark place considering making a very stupid decision. My therapist dropped what she was doing and came to my aid. She brought with her an 18 month-old baby. That baby was Daniella. Looking back, it truly is amazing how intensely human beings can shift with the right support and love and guidance. It’s out there. Love is out there. Needless to say, my therapist helped me through that moment and many many more over the years. Without her I would not be in the place I am in today. The actual TRUTH is I wouldn’t be alive. I am amazed that this many years later, we are still connected and the work we have done over the years has made this moment possible. Never In my wildest dreams did I imagine that 20 years later, that same baby would be wearing something I had a part in making with @unfukyourself ! Not only something we made, but something with a completely different view from where I was.... aimed at giving back. Aimed at those of us who have been in the trenches and survived. After the year we have all had, I just wanted to share this story. Transformation is possible. Magic is real. We can change the trajectory of our lives.
