We were about to find out the sex of our baby after many times hearing the heartbeat.The nurse got into position and pressed her cold object against my stomach. I looked at Sean and Phoenix. Oh how beautiful this was. After a few seconds my body went cold. I looked up at the nurse and I just knew. “I’m sorry” she said. “Your baby’s heart has stopped beating”. No one can prepare you for this type of pain. Even writing this makes my body ache. #1in4 women’s pregnancies end in miscarriage and the journey trying to conceive (ttc) can be a long, painful and difficult one. I spent the next year ttc that ended in more miscarriages. The year that passed was an incredibly lonely, confusing, scary and self loathing one. I share my story in the hopes that it makes someone feel less alone in their ttc journey .
