A recipe: heirloom beans from the farmers market, chunks of brisket fat I kept in the freezer after making chili last week, homemade chicken and mushroom stock, a bouquet garni of sun dried tomatoes, rosemary, parsley, thyme, smashed garlic, and shallot (not pictured), and kosher salt. Will simmer in the slow-cooker all day and we will eat with roasted squash and sautéed chard for dinner.
