Our schedule is so jam packed these days, so we decided to hire out the job, especially given that they have proper safety equipment and training for the roof. - This was the first time we have EVER hired out for something like this, we do usually do the work ourselves. It has been a learning experience - more on that another time. It was so nice to be able to keep working and living and parenting inside while a crew worked for us outside. This was a huge step for us because we have felt in the past that we had to do it all. Turns out we can’t - and that is okay. - Speaking of the roof, yes! You CAN paint a metal roof. I did a quick Google search regarding painting a metal roof before we even moved in and then talked about it with our painter. They use a special primer and paint, but I don’t know what it is! I just let the pros do their work. - The color is Onyx by Benjamin Moore. In person, it feels very velvety. Brown undertones, soft; welcoming. Not a true black. - Why black? I knew it would look good in all four seasons. It’s classic. It subtly defined the interesting geometric angles of the house and windows while masking the imperfections of a house that has been added on to over the years.
