David Easton, the legendary New York architect and interior designer, has died. After cutting his teeth in the 1960s working for Edward Wormley and Parish-Hadley, Easton founded his eponymous firm in 1972. In the ensuing decades, he carved a niche for himself—alongside notable anglophilic contemporaries such as Mario Buatta and Mark Hampton—as a classicist with a bent toward creating grand Georgian-style interiors (including in his own home, pictured). At the link in bio, design-world luminaries share their thoughts on Easton and the legacy he left behind. 📸: @bjornwallander for ED's June 2012 issue.
