For a Tudor Revival house in Pittsburgh's East End, Janine Carendi MacMurray of @areainteriordesign was tapped to create a light, sophisticated, and contemporary interior, while showcasing the client's family heirlooms. “In every room, we tried to incorporate pieces from the couple’s respective families—many of which had been passed down for generations,” MacMurray says. In the dining room, a 19th-century English mahogany table anchors the space; the @graciestudio wallpaper alludes to the boats traveling down the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers. At the head of the table is a John Singer Sargent portrait of a family ancestor. A Jean Boris Lacroix light fixture gives the space a warm Deco glow, and graphic blue throw pillows click in a surprising way with the Delft and Chinese porcelain on display. The chairs are from @artisticframe upholstered in a @hollandandsherryinteriors fabric, and the window seat fabric is from @scalamandre. Click the link in bio for more.
