And no, I’m not talking of a great love affair or that sort of thing, but of a clear direction and purpose that I could not foresee significantly changing. Until it did. And I said out loud, “This is not where I am supposed to be! So what now?! Where am I supposed to go?!” Literally two seconds later the phone rang and I was handed a new book called New Mexico. The wind was already blowing through my hair as I drove off into a midnight moon to eat fried green tomatoes with a stranger before leaving the shelter of east coast, the only home I truly knew. . It was the crux that held long lost dreams realized and unforeseen rerouting that gave me more than I could have ever wished for. It led me to the Pacific which twirled and christened me onto this new path until my jeans were sopping and soaked and I hopped on a plane with a new book called The Great Unknown and Motherhood To Follow. . One could say I’m fixated on their presence, which could explain why I have endless stacks of each.
