In my 20+ years of climbing, I've never put much work into building finger strength, thinking that my digits have never been my limiting factor. Wild Iris proved quite the contrary. Before my next Wyoming trip (whenever that may be), I'll definitely be investing some time into hangboarding and pocket training. A good reminder to set the ego aside and back off climbs you don't feel prepared for, when the result could be injury. Luckily I took my own advice and left unscathed 🖖.
