Moonboard campusing 🌙 with progressively wider movements in vids 1-3 (more swinging) and failed attempts 4-5. I find this exercise useful for regulating intensity and trying ‘harder’.

But what does trying harder really mean? Bouldering is all about trying hard for a short amount of time, requiring bursts of concentration coupled with relaxation. For me, that concentration is intensity, expressed through facial patterns like hard-eye staring 😳 sucked in lips 😶 or a set jaw 😐. The body (my face) triggers these mental cues (an increased sense of intensity) that focuses my mind and recruits my muscles in spite of how tired I am. It sort of feels like my eyeballs are flexing 😂 along with my jaw, and that level of flex moves through the rest of my body as I commit to the movement.

Of course there are always limits, as seen in vid 5 😅 #noflexzone But the important part is trying anyways.
