I’ll be taking over the D*S feed and stories the next few days to share some of my work and culture with you, and to talk a little bit about what representation means for those of us living in the Pacific Diaspora.  • • I identify as both Sāmoan and ‘Afakasi, which is a term for someone who is half Sāmoan. I grew up in a community of the US that had no other Pasifika families, and I have spent nearly my entire life being the only person like me in every space that I enter. My experiences living in the Pacific Diaspora have led me on a path to try to bring more representation, and challenge the spread of misinformation of my culture, all through my art.  • • Join me this week as I show you my artwork and processes, highlight the cultural significance of Tatau (Tattoo) in Sāmoa, and talk with Grace about how our Pacific Islander communities are affected by lack of representation, misinformation and appropriation in the US.
