We’re @chinatownpretty! We’ll be hanging out here for a few days to share our project, and new book, that celebrates the street style of seniors in Chinatowns across North America. Six years in the making, our project documents the unique style of Chinatown elders: one that weaves together different patterns, textures, eras -- a combination of handmade, custom tailored and gifted clothing.
Their outfits are a gateway for us to learn about their immigration stories, values and wisdoms. We always end our interviews with “What makes a happy life?” So tune in this week to meet some of the stylish, sage and active Chinatown residents.
