In 1860, the Wide Awakes, a group of young abolitionists who advocated for the election of Abraham Lincoln, held massive torchlight parades around the country banding together to ensure the freedom of enslaved peoples. Inspired by the 1860 Wide Awakes, @wideawakes2020 takes a cue from this band of abolitionist dreamers and widens the lens.
