Following a phone call from local resident smelling smoke, the emergency helicopter of the Fire and Rescue Service in Bordeaux, France, does a fly over to survey the extent of a nascent fire. Via radio, fire specialists in the helicopter instruct firefighting teams on the ground and in the air on how to best intervene to control the fire. This is part of an ongoing global story for National Geographic magazine on the issue of air pollution.
