Every year on Labor Day weekend, the spirit of Carnival comes to #Brooklyn for #WestIndianAmericanDay.

This #FilmFriday, follow musicians Ellie Mannette, Pete Seeger, and others as they talk shop and prepare to play in the 1977 Carnival in this hour-long film dedicated to exploring the rich global history of the steel drum—from its origins in Trinidad and Tobago to its status as one of the world’s most popular musical instruments.
