Ushibuse River
(Matsumoto City)

The Ushibuse River is a waterway built from tiered steps of stone. 

It was modeled after a French method of construction and completed during the Taisho Era, and has since been designated as an important cultural property.

The approximately 141-meter-long waterway falls rhythmically from step to step, harmonizing with the surrounding forest.
