Photo by @amandamustard The twisted roots of a banyan tree hold the head of a Buddha statue at Wat Mahathat in Ayutthaya, a sprawling UNESCO World Heritage site north of Bangkok, Thailand. Nobody quite knows how the head got here, but it happened sometime in the rich historical era of Ayutthaya (1350-1767), which saw the reign of 33 kings.
