We don’t mean to brag, but dag, doesn’t Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton costume amaze and astonish?🎶


Miranda wore this costume in the second act of “Hamilton: An American Musical,” the hit Broadway musical he wrote. The musical won 11 Tony Awards, including Paul Tazewell taking home the Tony for Best Costume Design in a Musical.


In 2017, our curators didn’t throw away their shot to tell that story. The costume joined our impressive collection of theatrical costumes—and it also enhances our understanding of philanthropy history.
