Roxy Music ／8thアルバム “ Avalon ” ( 1982年 )。
当時高校1年生(15歳／岡山)だった僕は、Roxy Musicの事を「 いけ好かない大人の音楽 」と誤解していた。
しかしどうしたものか？この色気が気になり、エロ本を盗み見するかの如くこっそり聴くようになり、気がついたらこの年になっても定期的に聴く定番アルバムとなっている。
Roxy Musicって、そもそも演劇性の強い、変態グラムロックバンド( 良い意味 ) だと思う。
彼らは、最後の最後にこのAOR風詐欺アルバムで、世界を騙しきったんじゃないか？！と勝手に解釈している。( 更にバブル紳士みたいなブライアン・フェリーのファッションもそれに拍車をかけている。)

そもそもロックミュージックは “ いかがわしいもの ” でなくてはいけない！ しかし完璧な詐欺はアートそのものである。

When I was a first-year high school student (15 years old living in Okayama), I misunderstood Roxy Music was music for cocky adults. But somehow, I was intrigued by its sexy appeal. I started listening to their songs secretly, just like taking a sneak at a porn magazine. Finally, I kept listening to it regularly, and this album became my standard up to the present.  I think Roxy Music is a kind of a freak glam rock band (in a good sense) with a strong theatrical impression. In the end, I’d say they deceived the world with this AOR (Adult-Oriented-Rock)-like album?! (Bryan Ferry’s fashion spurs it as it looks like a gentleman in bubble economy era in Japan.)

Rock music has to be “dubious” in the first place! But the perfect fraud can be art itself.
