THE CLASH ／5thアルバム “ Combat Rock” ( 1982年 )。

高校1年生(15歳／岡山)だった僕は、パンクロッカーに憧れていた。ロックに目覚めた中学3年の頃には、ほとんどのオリジナルパンクバンドは解散していて、メジャーシーンで引き続き活動していたのはTHE CLASHとTHE JAMぐらいだった。
このアルバムでTHE CLASHはアメリカ進出を果たし、音楽市場を席巻した。
“ Should I Stay Or Should I Go？” ( 俺は留まるべきか、進むべきか？ )
彼らはいつも弱さを見せてくれた。ジェットコースターのようなバンドの運命はこの後一気に解散に向かう。ジョー・ストラマーは永遠の憧れ！カッコ良くてカッコ悪く、全てをさらけ出すその生き方はPUNKそのもの。僕には到底出来っこない。

When I was a first-year high school student (15 years old living in Okayama), punk rockers were my idols.
I was awakened by the rock music one year before, but most of the original punk bands were disbanded by then.
Only THE CLASH and THE JAM were still active in the major scene.
With this album, THE CLASH made a foray into the US and swept the music market.
“Should I Stay Or Should I Go?”
They always showed weakness. The fate of the band, which looked like a roller coaster, suddenly disbanded after this. Joe Strummer is an eternal idol for me! He is cool and awkward, and the way of living that exposes everything is PUNK itself. I can't do it at all.
