A few years ago, I was feeling really hopeless and overwhelmed by all the bad news in the world, by the uncontrollable hardships that so many people all over the world are just born into. I was in a dark place where I felt like life will only continue to get worse. Then I read this book, and suddenly the fog started lifting and I believed in hope again. I believed that one by one, we could make a difference; that our light can shine in dark places, and we can overcome fear. I know that Nausicaä is a fictional character.
