Gea is one of my dearest friends and a great journalist with whom I have worked for years. As journalists, we think it’s important to try to document what is becoming one of the hardest moments for our country, and probably the world, in our lifetimes. We take calculated risks to bring these stories to you, but people have to be informed about what is happening. People need to know what to do and how to act properly in this emergency. This is why journalists need to continue reporting these stories. During these past few weeks we have been careful to take every precaution. We used masks, kept safe distances, and washed our hands as often as possible. For the last 48 hours she’s had a bit of a fever and cough. As of now she does not feel sick, but as a precaution we decided to separate, and she's staying at home to monitor her condition. Yesterday we saw each other like this, on her doorstep. I brought her groceries, and she showed me a thermometer with her temperature: 37.3° C (99.14° F). It’s hopefully nothing to worry about, but right now the precautions taken are never too many.
