Antin gives the spheres of the three goddesses – war, sex and marriage – a humorous spin. Athena stands in the centre holding a machine gun, while Hera, wife of Zeus, is pictured as a 1950s housewife alongside the glamorously dressed Aphrodite. On the left, Helen is objectified as the prize in this mythical beauty contest, and sits powerlessly while her fate – and the future of Troy – is decided around her.
