This ornate camel was made in Jaipur, India, in the mid-19th century and is crafted from colourful enamel which is encrusted with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and pearls.
This figure is less than 6cm tall but is exquisitely decorated – it’s thought to be a Bactrian camel. See it on display in the Sir Joseph Hotung Gallery of China and South Asia (reopening on 6 December). Find out more via the link in our bio.
