Photo by @emilypolar | The Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico contains a vast coastal aquifer system giving rise to thousands of sinkholes, or cenotes. The Casa Cenote is a landlocked aquifer that is still connected to the ocean. The mixing of freshwater and salt water results in a blurry swirling effect caused by refraction between the different densities. To see more of Mexico and beyond, follow me @emilypolar. #Mexico #Yucatan #cenote
