I’ve told you guys about a beautiful dream belonging to Nonnon san, a strong lady also a refugee from Myanmar living and working in Tokyo.
I had the privilege of meeting her, interviewing her, and getting a special manicure! 💅🏻 But most importantly, I heard her story and how she got her hopes with pursuing her dreams. She became independent and has just launched her own nail salon in a country she’s never been to and didn’t know about anything.
UNHCR work all over the world to help those people like Nonnon san.
We are now at a pivotal point. World leaders and thousands of change-makers will come together at the @unitednations to make history at the Global #RefugeeForum. Ahead of this moment, I believe everyone has a role to play in supporting refugees. That’s why I’m sharing Nonnon san’s words - because even if it’s tiny in the beginning, every voice and every action can make a difference eventually as long as we don’t give up.
