@another_farm are pleased to show our new work “Boundaries” at @森美術館 exhibition “Future and the Arts: AI, Robotics, Cities, Life - How Humanity Will Live Tomorrow” which will be from 11/19/2019 to 3/29/2020. We collaborated with craftsmen from Tatsumura Koho in Kyoto to create a traditional Noh kimono for the play “Okina” - woven from glowing silk produced by genetically modified silkworms containing green fluorescent protein. A Noh stage has been erected in the show, allowing the audience to see the work as if at the moment the “Waki (a player from reality)” encounters the “Shite” (a player from the divine world)” during a Noh performance. Noh performances are often stories that straddle the past, present, the reality and the world of the divine. Latest technologies such as genetic engineering are enabling humans to design and create new living things, moving them closer to the realm of the gods - is modern science creating the “Shite” player on the Noh stage? #anotherfarm #sputniko #スプツニ子 #masayakushino #串野真也
