“That’s the message of America.”
Billionaire investor Robert Smith (who is best known for offering to pay off the student loan debt of more than 300 students at Morehouse College) said young Americans need a better understanding and appreciation of capitalism.
Smith’s comments come as wealth and success fall under attack on the Democratic campaign trail.
Smith, who was in New York to attend the IPO of software company Ping Identity, said entrepreneurial stories like that of Ping and its founder are what define America.
But the younger generation doesn’t seem to agree with the billionaire. According to a recent poll, half of millennials and Gen Z said they would prefer to live in a socialist country.
Think he’s right? Should the younger generation appreciate capitalism?
