I went to #India a broken woman and have come back ever so slightly more whole. .
If I can reflect one thing back at our broken society it’s that it is absolutely ludicrous to think we can eradicate pain through law. We must learn to be bedmates with our pain if we can ever hope to diminish its power over us. The way Western society obsessively wants to run from, or medicate our pain away is a root cause of our intense suffering. We pick enemies, places to put our pain, and then “fight” them - people, groups, dis-eases, mental afflictions - and all this “fighting” only further hurts us. We pick “causes” to get behind - environmental, humanitarian, political, economic, professional, personal - and then bury our pain in those, and burn ourselves out in the effort. I have done all of this. I want to “be with”. I want to “move through”. I want to become the wisdom I spout.

I recommend you to read - Awakening Shakti by Sally Kempton where she traces the different manifestations of the goddess and how we can discover ourselves through the powerful psychological themes. It especially reminds me of the pain Parvati endures when her pure love is rejected by the might Shiva. She then converts that pain into Tapasya or self enlightenment to meet Shiva as his equal - both in heart and spiritual evolution. God bless you ❤️

riderclone the acceptance of our surroundings is the key to balance. acceptance combined with awareness leads to wisdom, where time stands still and only being is at the center of the universe. we need exercise, we must free ourselves from all that Western culture has taught us. it takes courage and desire to discover.
