Kayakers fear them. Commercial captains hate them. But once a year, the Jet Ski Invasion takes over New York’s waterways for a couple of hours of controlled chaos. The invasion is a simple idea with a precise schedule. During the last week of June, participants met at the Pepsi-Cola sign in Long Island City, near the border of Queens and Brooklyn. They traveled the narrow expanse of the East River and concluded in the Hudson by the George Washington Bridge. “Jet skiing is one of the lowest price points to entry to get into boating generally, and certainly in New York,” said Adam Schwartz, the owner of Sea the City, a tour company based in Jersey City, N.J. But one logistical challenge is the increasingly crowded harbor. This year, the New York City Ferry Service added additional routes. Personal watercraft tourism is continuing to expand but, not everybody is happy about it. @thecadejo took this photo of the gathering. Visit the link in our profile to read more.

Pathetic that you chose to bow to your liberal Democrat Masters and change the headline of the paper. There was nothing wrong with the original headline saying that Trump was praising Unity not hatred. But then again you are in the pocket of the liberal Democrat agenda it's just a matter of what is the DCCC is paying you or whether it's George Soros. You have zero Integrity zero credibility zero journalistic professionalism. You need to shut the doors down and close house because you are not doing your job as it was supposed to be done.

@e_milly007 I grew up house-boating and water skiing on the California delta. The jet skis follow the ski boats and harass the water skiers. I’ve seen water skiers get run over by jet skiers and I’ve seen ski boats trying to protect their skiers by running over fallen jet skiers. They should have their own place to run wild away from everyone else, but that’s not what they really want, they want to follow boats and jump wakes. Unfortunately someone always gets hurt.

The water quality in NY Harbor is actually better than is has been in decades. However, Jet Skis are a big problem contributing to air and water pollution, (exhaust is flushed directly into the water) wildlife disturbance, sensitive habitat destruction, noise, aesthetic degradation for others walking, sailing or fishing and public safety threats to other boats...

NO! Kayaking or canoeing is one of the lowest points of entry into boating. Get off you fuel powered noise machines and respect the world around you
