Going without food for 16 hours increases your brain’s natural growth factors, Rahul Jandial says.
Jandial is a a dual-trained brain surgeon and neuroscientist. Two days a week, Jandial himself practices intermittent fasting — where you eat normally for eight hours a day, from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. for example, and then eat nothing except to drink water, coffee or plain tea for the other 16 hours — to boost cognitive performance.
Jandial says an easy trick to help get 16 hours is to skip breakfast (which he actually does every day). Though breakfast has been dubbed the most important meal of the day, he says there is no evidence to support that theory.

@eeeanreyes if this is intermittent fasting then I used to do this in highschool! I ate between 7 to 4 and stop. This is nor a new phenomenon. In fact, I learned that from my churchs health reform when I was in high school. We didnt eat past 5pm max 7pm was the cut off time to help food digest before you sleep because food ferments in the stomach when you eat late then go to bed.

I have personally switched to two meals a day. One meal at 3pm and the other at 8pm and I feel great. Not consuming so many calories and feel healthy then ever.
